On a picture-perfect Saturday morning, Greens Farms Academy Lower School families gathered at Sherwood Island State Park for “Sand, Sun and Nature Fun.”

The event, hosted by the Lower School Parents' Association in partnership with GFA alum Soren Morrison ’22, kicked off at the Nature Center, where families explored the center's displays and observed specimens of local wildlife before heading out to walk the scenic salt marshes. Children took part in a nature scavenger hunt, discovering local wildlife and plant life along the way. The morning wrapped up at the beach, with a second scavenger hunt focused on finding unique shells, rocks and seaweed. Some children cooled off with a swim while others built sandcastles together.
About 20 families—both new and returning—joined in the fun, making it a wonderful way to connect and build community as summer winds down.
