Mark Smith, adventure sports photographer and professional sports photographer for USA Today and Getty Images, recently visited GFA to speak with students about his impressive career. During his visit, he shared insights into his work, workflow, and the technical skills that have contributed to his success. Mark inspired students by showing his images and talking about how he broke into the photography business, and continues to build clientele. In addition to speaking with the photography class, Mark had the opportunity to critique and elevate the work of Advanced Inquiry students in the Visual Arts, many of whom use photography as their primary medium. It was a day full of inspiration, giving students a unique perspective on the world of professional photography and the dedication required to succeed in this competitive field.
