Computer Science & Engineering Week 2025

Computer Science & Engineering Week 2025

Students across all divisions marked Computer Science & Engineering Week with hands-on experiences that highlighted the many ways technology shows up in learning at GFA. Observed from December 1–12 and aligned with the National Hour of Code week, the week offered opportunities for students to explore everything from robotics to cybersecurity.

In the Upper School, students in the Cybersecurity Inquiry welcomed Dr. Phil Bradford of the University of Connecticut for a talk on digital forensics, followed by an informal lunch-and-learn where students from across campus stopped by with questions. Girls Who Code members also spent time with Lower School students, leading an “Hour of AI activity” during lunch. In the Middle School, the robotics team presented at assembly, showing the robot from last season that carried them to a Tournament Finalist finish, earning a 2nd alliance place at the state finals.

Together, the week reflected GFA’s emphasis on curiosity, collaboration, and applying technical skills in meaningful, real-world contexts.
