The new year brought exciting achievements for the GFA art department, as several students earned recognition in local art exhibitions.
Five photography students were accepted into Westport’s Museum of Contemporary Art’s (MoCA) High School Student Art Exhibition, Humans and Nature: A Changing Relationship. The exhibition, which explores the evolving connection between humanity and the natural world, runs from January 9 through March 2, and features Will ’27, Lexi ’27, Giulia ’27, Deniz ’25, Eli ’27, and Claire ’27.
In addition, Kayla ’27 earned a rare spot in the Carriage Barn Arts Center’s 45th Photography Show, a professional-level showcase in Waveny Park, New Canaan (students are rarely featured in this exhibition). This show runs from February 1 through March 5, with an opening reception scheduled for February 1, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Congratulations to all GFA artists!
