This month, students in Foundations of Algebraic Thinking brought math to life through a collaborative, hands-on project exploring scale drawing. Working together, they transformed an 8" × 10" image into a 4' × 5' mural—an impressive exercise in both precision and teamwork.
The class selected the iconic Rosie the Riveter poster as their image to reproduce, connecting their work to recent studies in History on World Word II. The project also honored Women’s History Month, creating a meaningful intersection of math, art, and history.
Projects like this reflect the kind of learning that happens every day at GFA—where students apply their understanding in creative, collaborative ways.
