
GFA recently celebrated Class Day, an annual event held on the last day of school, recognizing student achievement throughout the school year. After a welcome from senior class president Nate ’26, awards were handed out and class speakers presented on behalf of their grade: Elsie ’29, Lachlan ’28, Tyler ’27. The ceremony ended with remarks from student council chair, Capone ’26. You can view pictures from the event here.

The Class Prize: Rajul ’29, Silvana ’28, Allegra ’28, Fiona ’27
Recognizes students who have shown great interest and consistent effort in their academic studies.
The Class Athletic Prize: Henry ’29, Hayley ’29, Jaxsen ’28, Campbell ’28, Zachary ’27, Kayla ’27
Awarded for sportsmanship, commitment, and excellence in athletics.
The Jane Kentnor Dean ‘52 Alumni Award (presented by Michele Orris-Modugno ’76): Lilah ’27
This award recognizes a freshman, sophomore, or junior for outstanding service to the school.
The Francis Burr Harden Award: Jean-Gabriel ’26
Presented to a senior for outstanding citizenship.
The David K. King Scholarship Award: Alexis ’26
Given to a senior for excellence in academic pursuits, as demonstrated by consistent effort, outstanding achievement, and intellectual engagement.
The Lynne A. Laukhuf Citizenship Prize (presented by Lynne Laukhuf): Henry ’29, Nathan ’28, Attalia ’28, Jose ’27
Named in honor of Lynne A. Laukhuf, a former Assistant Head of School and Trustee, this prize is awarded to students whose exemplary citizenship and dedication to extracurricular activities reflect the high standards of GFA.
The Angela Van Acker Award: Sydney ’26, Sadie ’26, Capone ’26
This award commemorates Angela Van Acker, a dedicated language teacher and advocate for community service. It honors a student who demonstrates initiative and commitment to both local and global community service.
The Wagner Award: En ’27
Created by past parent Richard Wagner, this award honors a student who has achieved the highest academic achievement in Upper School.
The Lucie B. Warren Award (presented by Libby McKinney Tritschler ’78): Tanvi ’26
Given for academic honors, conscientious effort, extra-curricular involvement, and personal warmth and generosity.
