The Dragon Lot is a parking lot that was turned into a recess area at the start of the year to give the front lawn a break and to give 5th to 8th graders more activities at recess. The lot hosts four square and basketball courts.

Kids all around the world have been affected by Covid 19 during the 2020-2021 school year, particularly due to schools closing. Some schools have opened little by little, and some, like GFA, have opened completely, with everybody on campus.

Social Distancing at Greens Farms Academy this year on campus has been crazy. Due to Covid-19, the safety protocols have been difficult. Students are tired of wearing masks, and not being able to see each other as much as usual.

At the end of August, zip ties were put on the lockers at Greens Farms Academy in the fifth-grade wing. This affected the fifth graders. The zip ties were put on because of Covid. Mr. Meyer, the Head of Middle School, says the reason we don’t have lockers is that it's “crowded and shared.”

The sun is shining, the bumps of the basketball making the ball easier to grip. A strong feeling of happiness spreads throughout your body. Go! Go! You got this! Your knees bend and hands are in the air. Swoosh! A smile appears on your face, you move to the next round!

On Monday, May 10th, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was approved for 12-15 year-olds. Now Pfizer will begin distributing throughout the states. Hopefully, this means we are one step closer to getting life back to normal.

On Monday, June 7th, the World Peace Games will begin once again. The Lower School has an event every year with games teams will compete in. This year will look a little different than others. Peace Games this year will be taking place over Zoom because of what we have been trying to avoid for the past year, COVID-19.

The Dragon Shop, one of the most fun things at GFA was located just outside the cafeteria. The reason why it was so fun is that you could buy GFA merch, cool pens, and pencils. But in 2020 it *vanished.* Now a teacher uses it for advisory and others use it for chorus.

All the students stroll into school with smiles on their faces, heavy backpacks sitting on their shoulders and familiar faces by their sides on the first day of school. These students do not know that all of those things will be with them throughout the year, including the enormous backpacks. This will happen because there is not any access to lockers.

It was March 11, the day before the Annie school play. Everyone was rehearsing their parts. There was laughter, the flowers were blooming, and the grass was growing. The sun was shining, but then the teachers told us we had to have a class meeting, so we did. Then they broke the news: “School was closed.”

By the PAC at GFA, (Performing Arts Center) there is a big, beautiful Chinese Chestnut tree. Mr Barry, the Head Grounds Manager at GFA, said that the tree has been there for at least 60 years, he guessed from the rings. Students walking around campus will notice that there is something mysterious in this old tree.

During Covid-19, there have been many changes at Greens Farms Academy. Covid-19 is a worldwide virus that started in March 2020, and is still going on to this day. One of the most noticeable changes that have happened at the time of the Covid-modified school year is the school classroom changes.
