Join us for GFA Summer Sports, where athletes can work on their game, or enjoy discovering a new one with our top-notch coaches and state of the art facilities. Sports include squash, tennis, basketball and more.  All camps take place on our campus and are open to the public.

Squash Clinics

Entering grades 1–12

Attila Agh, head coach of GFA Varsity Squash Team and program director for GFA's state-of-the-art Squash facility, is offering junior clinics for children of all playing levels who are interested in learning the game. The program's philosophy is keeping the "fun" as the main component while focusing on individuals, helping them reach their full potential. Team based classes provide an environment where all participants will learn skills to practice and perfect against various opponents and situations. Three one-week sessions are offered in June, with one special week featuring guest coaches from Yale and Columbia universities. Four one-week sessions are offered in August.

Basketball Camp

Entering Grades 4–8
12:30PM – 3:30PM

The GFA basketball camp is designed to provide students with the fundamental skills needed to play and compete at the appropriate level. At the GFA camp, each student will be involved with skill building drills, games and contests. The camp is also designed to ensure that every student has fun while learning to compete and play in games. Minimum enrollment required: 15 students per session; maximum enrollment 30. Students need to bring: Sneakers, water bottle and towel.

Tennis Camp

Entering Grades K–8

9:00AM – 12:00PM

The camp is designed to provide students with age-appropriate fundamental skills and training on our state-of-the-art tennis courts. Each day our players will be working on skill-building drills, match play and contests. The younger students will be introduced to the game of tennis using smaller courts and kid-friendly balls. This program will ensure that every student learns how to play the game and build his or her technical skills and mental fortitude while having fun! Camp will run rain or shine. Minimum enrollment required: 15 students per session; maximum enrollment 25. Students need to bring: Tennis racquet, sunscreen, water bottle and towel.

Surf Fishing

Entering Grades 5–8

This camp will take place in the Burying Hill Beach area, which is a short walking distance from GFA. Session 1 will cover the basics of fishing. Students will learn how to cast, bait hooks and tie their own knots. Students will also learn about common fish and ocean creatures, tidal and water movement, weather and water safety. Session 2 will cover from the basics to the advanced level of surf fishing. Students will learn about fish habitats and the skills needed to pursue fish. All students will receive a basic tackle box with terminal tackle (hooks and sinkers) and lures in both wood and plastic. No previous fishing experience needed. Minimum enrollment required: 8 students per session; maximum enrollment 10. Students need to bring: 7-8 ft. surf fishing rod with reel loaded 12-20 lb. test, towel, water shoes, bathing suit, water bottle, bug repellent and sunscreen.

Lacrosse Draws

Jamie Hanford and his skilled team will help boys learn new techniques, have the opportunity to try different positions and learn important elements of lacrosse through drills, scrimmages and games. Improve your skills in a supportive learning environment.
