For the past four years, Dr. Heather Heenehan (AKA “Dr. H”) has been guiding student-led research in her Marine Science classes. Using the Long Island Sound —specifically Burying Hill and Frost Point beaches — as their testing ground, each semester brings significant learning opportunities for the students. This year the courses saw an expansion not only in the areas of focus, but the manner in which the students report their findings out to the greater community.

The Cum Laude Society is a national honor society that inducts seniors and juniors who best exemplify the characteristics of superior scholarship and integrity. The following students were inducted into the society this year:
Upper School Counselor Stephanie Van Hatten was honored May 25 with the dedication in this year's Penumbra. This annual publication is a collection of student works — poetry, short stories, essays, and artwork — that is edited and designed by students, and released as a printed piece each spring.
Senior Lulu Wu's semester 2 Capstone Project was selected for the Global Online Academy Catalyst Exhibition Showcase. Hers was just among the 20 that were selected, from 500 submissions, and was published in the GOA 2021-2022 Public Showcase.
On May 23, the school hosted its first-ever Department Awards Reception, recognizing students for their exemplary work in various disciplines.
Though they shared the regular-season title with King, after losing to them in the final game of the regular season, the Dragons proved themselves as the best team in the Fairchester Athletic Association this spring by winning the league tournament title on Thursday, May 19.
