The end of the school year provides the school the opportunity to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students. This week thirteen juniors were recognized for their academic performance, leadership, or extracurricular contributions to the life of the school at the College Book Awards Breakfast Reception.
On Tuesday, May 16 the Upper School concert wowed audience members by featuring upbeat numbers and popular selections. It was a special evening for our senior GFA musicians including Wick Ackerman, Dylan Cofsky, Molly Duffy, Charles Henry, Elias Kennon, Will McGonagle, Tyler Shea, and Charlie Yates of the Wind Ensemble, LyNeta Brand, Kendall Caron-Quinn, Daniela Galik, Elizabeth Jones, Max Laferriere, Charles LaFreniere, Sadie Paulos, Fiona Reynolds, Emily Walsh, and Chloe Whelan from the Concert Choir and Steven Burrell, Jr. Eleanor Jannotta, Elizabeth Jones, Luke Laferriere, Emily Walsh, and Ella Woodbury of the Chamber Orchestra.
GFA’s 12th Global Symposium was nothing short of inspiring. Formerly known as the World Perspectives Symposium, the event featured over 140 Upper School presentations, demonstrations, and performances. From subjects in STEAM, sustainability, global studies, English, arts, athletics, and sciences, stemmed the opportunity for the GFA community to witness a grand display of excellence.
Liyana Asaria-Issa ‘23 has been selected as National Merit Scholarship winner and will be recognized by Head of School Bob Whelan during Upper School announcements next week.
Will McGonagle ‘23 and Neil Choudhari ‘24 Found a Non-Profit Aimed to Bring Equity to the World of Programming.
Earlier this winter, Bob Whelan joined Westport legend, journalist, soccer coach, and editor of "06880" and the "Woog's World" editorial which has run in the Westport News since 1986, Dan Woog.
