As we bid farewell to February, we also conclude our annual celebration of Black History Month, a period marked by observance and recognition across all divisions of our school community. This year's theme, "African-Americans & the Arts," was a focal point for assemblies, classroom discussions, and conversations throughout our hallways. As we embrace 2024, the Year of the Dragon, our school community has been vibrant with Lunar New Year festivities. Students enrolled in Mandarin courses dedicated their class time throughout the 15-day celebration to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of the holiday.
Last Thursday, February 15, marked another successful edition of the CAIS World Language Dinner hosted at Greens Farms Academy. In an enchanting evening, approximately sixty educators hailing from diverse corners of the region convened to partake in a rich tapestry of connection, collaboration, and the jubilant celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity.

On January 17 and 18, the GFA community welcomed Connecticut's own, Anthony Valentine, as a special guest speaker to commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Valentine is a multi-talented author, director, writer, and motivational speaker with a degree in Biology.
Students in Chris Meatto’s “Cities” course have spent the semester unpacking the histories and imagining the futures of cities by engaging with urban issues, planning, and design across a range of topics and case studies.
