Held in-person for the first time since Spring 2019, 11 students and seven faculty attended the Connecticut Student Diversity Leadership Conference (CT SDLC) on Sunday, April 2 at the Hopkins School in New Haven. Organized by CAIS and the Commission on Diversity in Independent Schools, the CT SDLC is a day-long conference designed to bring together students and adults from schools across CT who are passionate about equity and social justice.
Some highlights of the conference included two inspiring keynote speeches by student speakers, dance music spun by a student DJ, facilitated grade-level discussion sessions for students in grades 7-12/PG, and affinity-based workshops for adults/faculty. This GFA crew gave a full day of their time on a sunny Sunday afternoon to learn and share about ways to promote equity and inclusivity in schools!
