Please join us in congratulating Dr. Victor Llanque as our next Associate Head of School, effective July 1, 2020. Since joining GFA in 2008, Llanque has introduced or significantly redesigned a range of courses, including Global Thesis, International Relations, and Economics. He played a vital role in the development of the World Perspectives Program, teaching global studies courses and overseeing the program as Director of Global Education for three years. Most recently, he has served as our grade 12 dean and as the Assistant Head of Upper School for Academic Affairs. We are very fortunate that Victor will have the opportunity to work closely with Associate Head Chris Kolovos through the end of June, at which point Chris will move north to begin his tenure as the next Head of School at Boston University Academy.
Llanque earned his B.A. in Economics from Macalester College and Ph.D. in International and Comparative Education from Columbia University. He lives with his wife, Micaela, and three children, Nicolas, Simona and Federico, in Weston, where the forests remind him of the Amazon forest in Bolivia, where he grew up.
