We recently celebrated Class Day, an annual tradition where we recognize the remarkable achievements of our students who have shown mission-driven success throughout the 2023-2024 school year.
Here’s a look at the awards given and the outstanding students who earned them this year:
The Lynne A. Laukhuf Citizenship Prize
Named in honor of Lynne A. Laukhuf, a former Assistant Head of School and Trustee, this prize is awarded to students whose exemplary citizenship and dedication to extracurricular activities reflect the high standards of GFA.
- 9th Grade: Cece Tivey and Anika Vaidheeswaran
- 10th Grade: Ryan Schnieder
- 11th Grade: Tomas De Pinho
The Angela Van Acker Award
This award commemorates Angela Van Acker, a dedicated language teacher and advocate for community service. It honors a student who demonstrates initiative and commitment to both local and global community service.
- Recipients: Neil Chaudhari and Olivia Smith
The Jane Kentnor Dean ‘52 Alumni Award
This award recognizes a freshman, sophomore, or junior for outstanding service to the school.
- Recipient: Izzy Kittredge
The Class Athletic Prize
Awarded for sportsmanship, commitment, and excellence in athletics:
- 9th Grade: Brighton Karvoski and Kayla Batres
- 10th Grade: Owen Hecker and Lauren De Laurentiis
- 11th Grade: Ryan Miressi and Julia Johnson
The Class Prize
Recognizes students who have shown great interest and consistent effort in their academic studies:
- 9th Grade: En Qiao and Devin Lee
- 10th Grade: Tanvi Rajangam
- 11th Grade: Ian Hoffman
The Wagner Award
Created by past parent Richard Wagner, this award honors a student who has achieved the highest academic achievement in Upper School.
- Recipient: Serra Nalbantoglu
The David K. King Scholarship Award
Given to a senior for excellence in academic pursuits, as demonstrated by consistent effort, outstanding achievement, and intellectual engagement.
- Recipient: Jacob Robinson
The Francis Burr Harden Award
Presented to a senior for outstanding citizenship.
- Recipient: Ronnie Christolin
The Lucie B. Warren Award
Given for academic honors, conscientious effort, extra-curricular involvement, and personal warmth and generosity.

Special Appointment
Lieutenant Sean Collins of the United States Air Force Academy was in attendance to appoint Andrew Roth to recognize his efforts and contributions to the GFA community.
