The 2022-23 GFA Fund, the school’s annual immediate use fund, raised $2,854,878 - the highest total in school history. The record-breaking success of the GFA Fund exemplifies our shared partnership to advance the GFA mission. A critical resource that impacts virtually every aspect of school life and learning, the Fund exceeded its goal by $500,000, allowing the school’s leadership to make additional investments in financial aid, professional development, co-curricular opportunities, and campus enhancements.
"Each gift to GFA represents more than just the dollars given; it symbolizes an endorsement of the individuals, initiatives, and resources that enable us to realize our vision for the school," said Head of School, Bob Whelan. “This remarkable accomplishment would not have been possible without the outstanding support of our entire school community, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks.”
Several achievements deserve special recognition. Giving Day remains a vital component of the GFA Fund campaign, and on May 4, the Dragon faithful rallied to the cause with nearly 1,000 donors contributing $935,887. Parents from the Classes of 2031, 2034, and 2035 achieved 85 percent participation or higher. On the occasion of their 40th Reunion, the inimitable Class of 1983 established a new reunion participation record with 84 percent of class members making a gift to the GFA Fund.
"The extraordinary outcome of our GFA Fund campaign is a testament to the generosity of the GFA family and the dedication and enthusiasm of our incredible volunteer team,” said Advancement Committee Chair, Sandy Ewing P ‘20, ‘23, ‘26. “The collective impact of all gifts — large and small — move GFA forward together.”
