ABOUT PETER COLEMAN
Coach Coleman possesses a remarkable amount of sailing and racing experience and plaudits, including participation in two America’s Cup campaigns and a U.S. Sailing Mallory Cup Championship, awarded annually by the U.S. Sailing Association to the overall champion for the sport of sailing. Peter has extensive experience representing the United States internationally, serving as first alternate for two Olympic Games (1988, 1996), winning the U.S. Sailing North American Men’s Sailing Championship Elimination Series, sailing for the U.S. National Team on five occasions, and competing in major international regattas around the world, including numerous World Championships in assorted craft. A native of Larchmont, NY, Peter had an accomplished junior sailing career on the Long Island Sound. As a coach, Peter served as Head Sailing Coach at the U.S. Naval Academy (1984-85) and he remains actively involved working with young people at youth clinics at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY.
