“Physical Education” is just the beginning. Our Lower School program is designed to nurture the whole child—physically, socially, and emotionally.

A Thoughtful Foundation:
Our curriculum is informed by national and local standards, along with experts in kinesthetics and youth athletic development. Lessons are hands-on, active, and age-appropriate. 

Confidence Through Challenge: 
We create opportunities for students to face and overcome challenges, helping them build the confidence that comes from knowing they can do hard things.

Emotional Growth:
We practice mindfulness at the end of each session so students return to class ready to learn. We also help students practice emotional self-regulation by employing RULER techniques in moments of high stress and conflict.  

Our program, required for all Middle School students, is designed to provide opportunities for each student to unlock their best self.  

A Place to Flourish:
We meet students wherever they are, whether new to athletics or already passionate about a sport.

Exploration and Choice:
In Grades 5 and 6, students rotate through a clinic-style intramural program, gaining exposure to a variety of sports. In Grades 7 and 8, they are able to make an informed choice: participate on an interscholastic team or opt for a non-competitive offering focused on wellness and fitness.

Time for Life Beyond School:
With most athletic programming built into the school day, Middle School students still have time and energy to pursue their passions and interests after hours.
