Greens Farms Academy wrestler Gabe Garibaldi ’24 has announced he will take his athletic and academic talents to compete for the Ivy League Princeton Tigers starting next fall.

“Princeton has great academics with an excellent wrestling program,” Garibaldi said. “It's always been my first choice and I can't wait to finally be a part of the team.”

Garibaldi is one of three GFA wrestlers to commit to a Division I Ivy League program, joining teammates Joey Iamunno (Brown) and Nate Taylor (Penn).

“These commitments are culmination of a lot of hours spent in the gym, in the classroom and with the people who supported their goals,” GFA wrestling coach and assistant director of enrollment Jack Conroy said. “I’m so proud of the work that they have put in and continue to put in. I will never be able to express enough how much they mean to the program and to me.”

Last year, wrestling for Iona Prep out of New York, Garibaldi placed fourth at the High School Nationals. He wrestled at 285 pounds.

Princeton finished 7th out of 17 schools at last year’s EIWA Championship meet. The Tigers were also 13th out of 67 teams at the NCAA Division I championships, producing one national champion, as well.

Garibaldi is one of the eight GFA Dragons who were recently feted during the school's annual early signing period commitment ceremony at the school.
