Greens Farms Academy girls basketball player Cheyenne Brand ’25 has announced she is taking her talents to High Point University in North Carolina after graduating.

Cheyenne was one of eight GFA athletes who was honored earlier this year in the Coyle Gym as part of the school’s annual commitment ceremony for athletes who are continuing their student-athlete journeys at a Division 1 or Division 2 university.

She is the third GFA girls basketball player to commit to a Division 1 school since 2017, joining Lexi Kimball (Georgetown) and Allie Palmieri (Boston College/Seton Hall/University of Massachusetts).

“A big part of what helped me choose High Point was the environment,” Cheyenne said. “The first time I went there, I was able to get acclimated with the coaches and the players, and it was overall just a very welcoming place.High Point prides itself on academics; I feel confident that this school is not only preparing me for the next four years but also the next 40.”

Cheyenne is looking forward to competing as a panther..

“Cheyenne is a relentless and versatile player who excels on both ends of the floor,” GFA coach Dannie Powell praised. “ I’m thrilled for her as she embarks on this next chapter. She selected a school where she can excel both academically and athletically. Her versatility and skill set will give her the chance to contribute immediately and make an impact.”

Cheyenne  knows GFA has helped to set her up for success both on and off the court.

“GFA has always been a place of support,” Cheyenne  remarked. “My teachers  have prepared me to think outside of the box. Because of GFA, I have a  community that I can lean on and network with from now until forever.”

Cheyenne follows in the collegiate basketball footsteps of her  older sister, LyNeta Brand ’23, who plays at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
