Twelve more Greens Farms Academy student-athletes were honored on Wednesday as part of the school’s annual Spring college commitment ceremony inside Coyle Gymnasium.
The event honored GFA students who have committed and been accepted by their schools of choice at either the Division I, II or III levels. In the fall, the school celebrated eight more athletes who are bound for Division I or II schools, who either signed NCAA Letters of Intent, received “likely letters” from Ivy League institutions, or other official documentation.
Friends and family members were on hand to celebrate.
The athletes who were honored on Wednesday included: Ronnie Christolin (Wrestling, Wesleyan University); Ella Conopask (Soccer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology); Mark Freeman (Track and Field, Washington & Lee University); Xavier Giles (Wrestling, Princeton University); Lilly Hogan (Field Hockey, Bates College); Molly Keaveney (Basketball, St. Lawrence University); Oliver Kwan (Baseball, Wesleyan University); Devin McCormack (Volleyball, Middlebury College); Coleman Merce (Tennis, Washington University in St. Louis), JT Schneider (Wrestling, Williams College); Francesca Sullivan (Field Hockey, Union College); and Eddie Xue (Squash, Massachusetts Institute of Technology).
GFA Head of School Bob Whelan and Director of Athletics & Physical Education Eric Lee announced that Wednesday's ceremony brings the total of student-athletes who will graduate from GFA this spring and play in college to 20, out of a senior class of 93.
