Six Greens Farms Academy student-athletes, including five wrestlers, have been named Academic All-Americans by the National High School Coaches Association.
Wrestlers and graduated seniors Peter Kane (first team), Marcus Murabito (second team), Gus Bachner (honorable mention) and Neil Gawande (honorable mention) join rising junior wrestler Nate Taylor (second team) as those chosen from that sport.
Additionally, girls soccer defensive standout and 2022 graduate Shealeigh Crombie was also honored as a first team selection as Dragons were honored for their prowess in the classroom and in their chosen athletic arenas.
According to the NHSCA website, all nominees must carry a minimum 3.6 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
This year’s crop of nominees was especially talented as the NHSCA said, “The National High School Coaches Association received a record number of applicants and the selection process was extremely competitive. The NHSCA is proud to honor the very best student athletes in the country, representing 22 sports.”
