Six Greens Farms Academy cross country runners earned All-FAA status on Monday during the 2022 Fairchester Athletic Association championship meet at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport.

Sam MacDonald ’23 and Grace Horton ’24 both notched top-10 finishes to take first-team honors while Brendan Howard ’23, Devin Agah ’24, Hadley Rosow ’26 and Jordan Moss ’25 posted top 20 showings to earn second-team nods.

"The boys and girls collectively as teams had their best races," GFA coach Glen Colello said. "The hard work during the season has them peaking at the right time."

Horton’s seventh-place showing (21:09.0) helped lead the Dragons to a third-place finish overall. GFA had 83 points, trailing league champ Hopkins (54) and Greenwich Academy (79).

Rosow was 11th (21:35.7), Moss was 19th (22:19.1) and Paige Parisi ’23 was 21st (22:33.5). Claire Woodbury ’26 rounded out the scorers in 26th (23:22.6). Fiona Reynolds ’23 and Ashley Brueck ’26 also competed as varsity runners.

Following the first FAA meet of the season, GFA finished 101 points behind Greenwich Academy. This time, though, only four separated the Dragons and the Gators.

In the boys race, the Dragons were fifth overall, but again closed the gap on the team in front of them. GFA lost to St. Luke's by 48 points in the opening meet and was just 15 points behind them following the championship meet.

MacDonald’s time of 17:50.3 led the way while Howard was 11th (18:00.2) and Agah was 13th (18:08.9). Quinn Reynolds was ’23 was 33rd (19:19.7) and Benjamin Lublinsky ’26 was 42nd (20:27.3) while Matt Olins ’23 and Jakob Zapanta ’25 also competed at the varsity level.

"They have paved the way all season by putting in the effort," Colello said.

In the JV meet, Andrew Knight (21:56.3) was 27th and Eliot Pitchenik (21:59.7) was 28th for the boys and Julietta Murphy was 23rd for the girls.

Up next for the GFA dalers is the New England Championship meet, which will be held on Nov. 12 at Canterbury School in New Milford.

"The hopes are high that both Dragons squads leave with individual and team hardware," Colello said.
