Seven members of the Greens Farms Academy field hockey program have been honored by being named to the 2022 NFHCA High School National Academy Squad.

Two Dragons—senior Piper Mead and junior Lilly Hogan —were named Scholars of Distinction (3.9 GPA or higher).

Five others, including seniors Analise Trani, Ava Dippel, and Paige Bierman, and juniors Francesca Sullivan and Scarlett Kniffen, were honored for having GPAs of 3.5 or higher.

“What an amazing accomplishment for this crew,” said GFA field hockey coach Liz Schuellein. “We had a 3.7 team GPA this year and these seven were amazing leaders on and off the field, and continue to guide our underclassmen.”

Trani and Mead have both been honored twice for their academic prowess in the classroom.

Over the past three years, 20 different Dragons have been honored.

According to the NFHCA,more than 2,650 student-athletes from more than 270 high schools across the country were honored.

The group recognizes those high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted grade-point average of 3.50 out of 4.0 (or the equivalent) through the first quarter/semester of the 2022-23 school year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.
