The Greens Farms Academy track and field team established two new school records in its first regular season meet of the year.
Competing on Hopkins School's new track, the girls 4x400 team won its race and established a new school record in the process while senior Jackson Rassias bested the school mark in the 300 hurdles.
In the girls meet, GFA’s 4x400 relay team took first in 4:54.30 in school-record fashion. Team members included: Grace Horton, Elise McCormick, Sadie Paulos and Georgia Palmgren.
The time shattered the school's previous best mark of 5:03.97.
Rassias, meanwhile, was second in the 300 hurdles in the boys' meet with a time of 55.20. That topped the previous best of 59.1, set in 2015 by Adam Petno.
In other results, Oliver Kennon won the 100 meter dash (11.47) and the 200 (23.24)
Tim Northrop tied for the win in the high jump (5-8) and was fourth in the 100 (12.98)
Rassias was also third in the 400 dash (1:00.36).
Larson Palmgren was third in the 1,500 (4:50.57) with Sam McDonald fourth (4:50.64). McDonald would later win the 3000 (10:52.66).
GFA’s 4x400 boys relay team was second (4:00.55).
Also for the girls, Sam Freeman (14.05) and Lauren Lior (14.14) took first and second in the 100
Freeman also won the 100 hurdles (20.58) while Cayla Bernstein finished third (22.00).
In the 800, Georgia Palmgren posted the win in 2:43.46.
Lilly Hogan won the 200 (31.22) while Bernstein was third (33.43).
In the 400, Sadie Paulos was second (1:12.15) and Grace Horton was third (1:12.96). Paulos also won the long jump with a leap of 12-5 ¾. Hogan was second in the long jump.
