A trio of Greens Farms Academy JV squads took center stage on Saturday, competing in the 2022 FAA JV Tournaments for boys and girls soccer and volleyball.
Here’s a rundown of how the Dragons did:
GIRLS SOCCER
The GFA JV Girls Soccer team went 2-1 and placed third at Saturday's FAA JV tournament.
After falling 1-0 to host Rye Country Day, the Dragons topped St. Luke's (3-0) and Hopkins (4-0) to finish the tournament 2-1
Goals were scored by Eleanor Raveis '27, Halliwell Kline '28, Emma Whidden '26, Halle Monschein '26 and Margo Foster '25.
The Dragons finish the season 1-7-2 (3-8-2 if you include the FAA JV tourney’s modified games).
BOYS SOCCER
The GFA Boys JV Soccer team did get one win, a 1-0 decision, during Saturday's FAA JV Soccer Tournament.
Graham Ackerman '26 set up the tally, passing the ball to Owen Simon '24, who buried the shot for his team's lone goal in that win.
Over the course of the day, goalie Jean Gabriel Messier '26 finished with 14 saves.
The Dragons finished the season with an overall record of 4-9-1.
VOLLEYBALL
The Dragons finished 2-2 in the FAA JV tournament, just missing out on a semifinal berth and falling short in a tie-breaker.
Playing just single set efforts against four different opponents, GFA fell to Hopkins (16-25) and Holy Child (24-26) before bouncing back to win two straight over Masters (25-22) and Rye Country Day School (25-15).
GFA finished the season with an overall record of 9-4.
