Ryley Tate-Padian scored two goals and Lauren Lior had a goal and two assists as the second-seeded Greens Farms Academy girls soccer team opened the FAA tournament with a 6-0 quarterfinal win over seventh-seeded Holy Child on Monday afternoon.
The win thrusts GFA into Wednesday's semifinal showdown against third-seeded Greenwich Academy at 2 p.m., on GFA's Field 1.
Camille Ewing started the scoring for the Dragons, turning a Lauren Lior assist into a goal just 10 minutes into the game. Two minutes later, Sofia Atehortua netted a goal from about 20 yards out as the Dragons were pulling away for the win.
Tate-Padian scored her first goal to make it 3-0 when she converted a pass from Emma Orenstein. One minute later, Orenstein tallied a Atehortua set up to make it a 4-0 game at the half.
Tate-Padian and Lior scored the second half goals with Bea Schlein getting an assist on Lior's tally.
Lane Murphy made six saves for JV while Zoe Monschein made six saves in the late-going.
