The Greens Farms Academy track team competed in the 2019 NEPSAC Division 3 championships on Saturday in Middletown, R.I.
Tim Northrop’s second-place finish in the high jump and Kristiana Modzelewski placing in two different events were some of the highlights on the day for the Dragons.
Northrop’s jump of 6-feet gave the Dragons eight points, a good chuck on their 12th-place standings out of 22 teams.
The Dragons’ 4x400 relay team of Ethan Phan, Oliver Kennon, Larson Palmgren and Will McCall placed fourth with a time of 3:41.37.
Phan also placed sixth in the long jump with a best leap of 19 feet, 9 inches.
In the girls meet, Modzelewski, a senior, was fourth in the 300 hurdles (50.96) and placed fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.72 seconds).
Also competing for the girls were: Alexandra Lind (14.69) and Sam Freeman (14.74) in the 100; Madison Gordon (19.76) and Jennifer Llamas (20.92) in the 100 hurdles; Anabell Lawton (1:22.13) in the 400; Georgia Palmgren (2:40.01) and Kira McCreesh (2:46.55) in the 800; Gordon (13-5 ½) in the long jump; and Aniyah Brunson (54-5) in the discus.
For the boys, McCall (4:29.13) ran the 1,500; Phan (12.13) and Oliver Kennon (12.85) ran the 100; Jackson Rassias (1:01.91) competed in the 400; and Charlie Bohnsack ran in the 800 (2:24.12). Phan also competed in the triple jump (33-10).
