Recently graduated Greens Farms Academy girls lacrosse senior Kate Millard has been named an Academic All-American by the US Lacrosse/Connecticut High School Coaches Association recently.
Millard, a midfielder, was one of 22 players from Connecticut schools, both private and public, to earn the status.
“Kate was an amazing senior captain for us, a trusted and reliable leader on and off the field,” said GFA head coach Ciara Thurlow. “Much of GFA’s success was due to Kate’s ability to empower the younger generation of players with her strong work ethic and kind and welcoming personality. We are so proud of Kate’s Academic All-American accomplishment. It is well-earned.”
Millard helped lead the Dragons to a 7-2 record this season and a second-place finish in the Fairchester Athletic Association.
According to the USA Lacrosse website, a boy' and girls All-Academic honoree is a player who exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship on the field, and represents high standards of academic achievement in the classroom.
