Twelve Greens Farms Academy student-athletes were honored this spring as part of the school’s annual commitment ceremony, celebrating their successful quests to play sports at the next level. These seniors join the seven additional student-athletes that were honored at the NCAA National Letter of Intent Signing Day this fall.

The event honored GFA students who received admission and assurances from Division I, II or III colleges in the form of National Letters of Intent, “likely letters” from Ivy League institutions, and other official documentation.

Friends and family members were on hand to celebrate.

The athletes who were honored on Wednesday included: Girls basketball player LyNeta Brand (Franklin Pierce), girls tennis standout Lane Durkin (Wesleyan), baseball players  Charlie Lafreniere (Amherst) and Joel Strand (Amherst), wrestlers Tyler Shea (Franklin & Marshall) and Zahir Felix-McLean (Cornell), boys lacrosse players Luke Laferriere (Colby College) and Jason Rubinstein (Rhodes College), girls soccer player Lauren Lior (Swarthmore), boys tennis player Davis McDonald (Boston College), girls lacrosse player Laci Raveis (Bates College) and field hockey player Analise Trani (Western New England)

GFA Head of School Bob Whelan and Director of Athletics & Physical Education Eric Lee announced that Wednesday's ceremony brings the total of student-athletes who will graduate from GFA this spring and play in college to 19, out of a senior class of 90.
