Far surpassing last year’s record, 93 GFA students received 117 Hudson to Housatonic Scholastic Writing Awards in the 2022 competition. Six students received honors in the Connecticut Regional Scholastic Arts Awards.

As students progress in the visual arts program, they learn to engage in "creative discourse," with an active vocabulary and understanding of how to make art, critique it, and write about it.

Ten seniors were picked this year to participate in the annual Young Artist Exhibit at the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA).
Senior Shealeigh Crombie received an Honorable Mention award in the prestigious 2022 YoungArts National Competition. Her photographs were distinguished from among entries from high school students across the country.
Rising senior Santiago Mejia ('22) premiered his film Every Day Feels Like Sunday at the inaugural Bridgeport Film Festival July 23–25. He was the only high school student to participate in the festival.

Our young artists fill the halls with their work, and spread their talents into the world by way of competitions, productions, and exhibitions. Faculty, who are both educators and artists, open the doors for exploration, imagination, and skill-building.
