Greens Farms Academy’s Middle school hasn’t seen a renovation in over 20 years! This summer, Mr. Meyer, Head of the Middle School, Mr. Whelan, Head of School, and many others have made the choice to renovate the Middle School.

Covid 19 has caused some changes for the Greens Farms Academy Middle School this year, and summer is just around the corner. Kids 12 to 15 years old are now eligible to get the vaccine. How will that affect Middle School next year? Will there be masks? Will we no longer have to be socially distanced?

“Chips, bagels, cream cheese, and finally silverware,” Mr. Santoro says. The food workers at Greens Farms Academy shovel items around to find the right food to put in carry-on red bags that line the tables and on carts in the cafeteria. This is the new lunch at GFA.

At the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, the Middle School students were devastated when the competitive sports for them were officially canceled. The MS competitive sports at GFA in the years of 2020-2021 have changed a lot because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The middle school forum at Greens Farms Academy will be renovated in the summer of 2021. The forum is near the new dragon lot, an old parking lot on the right of the entrance of the school.

The end of the year is closing in, and that means summer, for Middle School, at least. On June 7, 2021, Greens Farms Academy Lower School is having one more day of school, holding their annual, traditional, end of school event, Peace Games.

There has been a recent increase in the amount of trash at Greens Farms Academy this year because of the new lunch system. The new lunch system requires personal packaging for everything including small things, like dressing and cookies.

Coming this May, The Book of Names, an Upper School film, will be released. The Upper School play is a play that has turned into a movie because of Covid-19. The original play was supposed to be Romeo and Juliet, but because of Covid, the students thought of a better play idea.

The Dragon Lot, which is located behind the Middle School at Greens Farms Academy, has turned into a play space for middle schoolers, and it will soon offer a variety of sports.

On Monday, March 29th, Ms. Chew sent out an email saying that middle schoolers were starting sports. The Middle School is starting sports now because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since sports have started, there has been a huge increase in kids going to the nurse.
