As a lifelong trivia fan, the thing I’ve never liked about trivia is that it often feels exclusionary. It’s a really great feeling when you know the one esoteric piece of knowledge that everybody else doesn’t, but most of the time you’re the “everybody else.” That’s why, when I set out to design the GFA Advisory 2020 Kahoot, I based many of the questions on one principle: a good trivia game rewards critical thinking as much as it rewards knowledge.

Many will agree that a visit to campus – even in the high-stakes context of a job interview – makes evident our shared value of community connectedness. Never has that value been more important as we embark upon a new sort of school year in a physically distanced, sterile setting.

Hello, GFA Community! I am thrilled to be joining as the new Upper School Counselor. I come to GFA from 12 years of crisis counseling in a nonprofit organization working with children and adolescents. I am a trained Dialectical Behavior Therapist, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I hold a Masters in Education and I am a Licensed Professor Counselor in CT as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in NY.
