During the week of January 31, GFA’s youngest learners reached beyond the curriculum to delve into a community-focused project as part of their “Mini-Term.”
This week, the middle school Mandarin classes celebrated the Lunar New Year with a variety of activities. The Mandarin classes focused on exploring the Chinese New Year traditions of making red banners, lanterns, and paper cutting.

In mid-January, the Lower School students walked into the Lower School Commons, each delivering a reusable bag of kindness to be given to local families through the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Before taking to the gym to cheer on the GFA wrestling team at Pack the House’s kickoff competition, over 60 Lower School families packed the main cafeteria to enjoy pizza and an evening of spirited community connection. At the Lower School Parents Association’s “Pizza & Pep”, lower schoolers capped off their weeks socializing with friends and decorating banners in support of our home teams.
