This March, five members of the GFA Quiz Team put their knowledge to the test at the Connecticut History Bowl & Bee, hosted at Newtown High School. Representing GFA were Ian ’25, Sean ’26, Brett ’26, Nate ’26, and Conner ’27.

As an English teacher, one of the first questions I get these days from just about anyone—friends, family members, servers in restaurants, airline employees at ticket counters—is, “Wow, what are you all doing about AI?”
The highly-anticipated Middle School production of Frozen JR. brought a beloved story to life thanks to dynamic performances, lots of great music, and dedicated work behind the scenes.
“This is a shared experience, and you all have something in common: The potential to be great leaders.” With these inspiring words, Head of Lower School Jane Verlin welcomed students to a special all-day program, the Fourth Grade Leadership Conference, held on Tuesday, February 25.
The GFA Dragonoids wrapped up an impressive competition season, bringing home multiple awards and showcasing their engineering and programming skills at the Connecticut State Championships, held at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport.

Together with the Lower School STEAM Team, a dedicated group of parent volunteers, the Lower School Parents Association hosted a winter inspired STEAM night for lower schoolers and their families.
The McGrath Gallery is pleased to feature Poetic Visions: A Look at Humanity and Space, an exhibition showcasing the work of students in Intermediate and Advanced Photography. The collection will be on display from February 14 - March 7.
In a hands-on exploration of the legislative process, eighth graders in Mr. McWhorter’s history classes recently participated in a Mock Congress project, taking on the roles of lawmakers, experts, and committee members.
