Grandparents and Special Friends Day was a wholesome testament to the considerable amounts of love and support our lower and middle schoolers have from some of their biggest fans. Filled with moments of laughter and joy, the event allowed visitors to step inside the walls of GFA and see firsthand what life as a Dragon looks like.
In warm words of welcome, Head of School Bob Whelan touched on the importance of connection and how that theme is vital for the growth of GFA students.
“With the wisdom of life experience that all of you have, you know how connected the world has become,” he said. “When I think about preparing for lives of purpose, I can promise you in no uncertain terms, unequivocally, the role that you play by that connected source of unconditional love, just cheering them on will make such a positive difference in your grandchildren's lives.”
From Mexico and Canada to Wisconsin and just beyond Beachside, grandparents and special friends traveled far and wide to spend the day at GFA. The cherished tradition featured lower school poem recitations and performances from the middle school choir. After convening in the PAC, participants got to visit classrooms and tour campus with their students.
