Judo-sensation Julien Meunier-Skornicki ’30 Earns Bronze at US Open Championships

For the second consecutive year, GFA seventh-grade student Julien Meunier-Skornicki was a top performer at the 2024 US Open Judo Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in July.

Meunier-Skornicki took bronze in this year's competition, placing third in the Juvenile Male/Under 48 kg” category.

After dropping his first match of the competition, this determined young athlete stormed back to win his final three matches and bring home a bronze.

In July 2023, Meunier-Skornicki won the gold medal in the US Open Judo Championships for the “Golden Score/Intermediate/Male/Medium Light” category.

The GFA student athlete, who started judo eight years ago, competes for Total Form Fitness Judo and Wrestling out of White Plains, N.Y.
