The Upper School fall performance of "Oklahoma!" will be November 17-19 in the Performing Arts Center. Based on the play "Green Grow the Lilacs," by Lynn Riggs, "Oklahoma!" was adapted into a musical in 1943 by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. It tells the story of life in the developing territory of Oklahoma, as seen through the lives of ranchers, cowboys, and homesteaders. At the heart of the story is the romance between cowboy Curley and his sweetheart, a farm girl named Laurey.

'Lobal Perspectives' Defends Puzzle Hunt Title
Monday, May 23, 2016
GFA hosted the 14th annual GFA Puzzle Hunt on May 20, with a record 21 teams participating. Teams spent the afternoon attempting to solve a variety of puzzles with eclectic and often elusive themes. All puzzles were solved by at least a couple of teams within the two-and-a-half-hour time limit and a significant number of teams solved at least half of the puzzles. Team members ran from their "solving" rooms to puzzle central to check their answers.

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

GFA senior co-captain Ingrid Backe will play lacrosse for Colgate University next year. Leading the offense for the Dragons, in addition to Backe, were junior co-captain Kate Paliotta, freshman Nicole Humphrey and eighth grader Ashley Humphrey. Freshman goalie Kelly Van Hoesen was a defensive force for the team as well.
