10 Tips for Maintaining a Civil Discourse
Tuesday, October 11, 2016
An excerpt from a speech on "Civil Discourse," as presented by GFA history teachers Robert Guffin and Erin O'Grady. "We have been asked to speak to the school community about the ways in which it's possible to have a civil conversation about politics during this very heated part of the election season. This seems particularly important this year given the unprecedented nature of this presidential campaign. We will present some general rules or recommendations that will hopefully help you have a spirited conversation about any controversial subjects without personal attacks and the acrimony that is too common in today's public discourse."
