Philanthropy/Endowment/Capital Campaign

Like all independent schools, GFA relies on the generosity of parents and alumni to help fund current programs as well as endowment and new facilities. Every year, all members of the GFA community are asked to support Annual Giving. Tuition does not cover the full investment we make in each student, therefore we rely on Annual Giving to provide approximately 7% of the annual operating budget each year. From time to time, GFA conducts Capital Campaigns to secure funding to achieve major strategic objectives. For these critical priorities, we rely on the GFA community's philanthropic support of a capital campaign, in addition to their support of Annual Giving.

The endowment provides long term financial stability, serves as an indication of the stature and stability of the school, and is a measure of the school's ability to remain at the forefront of teaching innovation and excellence. The endowment as of June 30, 2016 was $35,518,734.

Transportation

Students commute via car/carpool, van service, or the Metro-North train. The Greens Farms train station, which is at the foot of the campus, is a 5-minute walk to school. More than 175 students use Metro-North for transportation.

Diversity

GFA has a diverse, multi-cultural student body and faculty, representing a broad range of ethnic, racial, socio-economic, religious and international backgrounds. Students and faculty of color represent 18.2% of our student body and 17% of our faculty.
