Throughout the fall, the PreK has been engaged in seed-to-table work. During numerous visits to the garden, students discovered a wide variety of crops and studied the structure and function of plant roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds. After an exploration of the Westport Farmers Market, the students were inspired to create their own market.
It wasn’t easy to fill the open fencing coach position at Greens Farms Academy, but this year’s Dragons are going to be coached by somebody who not only knows her stuff, but says she wants to be in it for the long haul, as well. Sandra Marchant joined the GFA athletics family last week when she was hired to take over the school’s fencing program.
The boys soccer team and the volleyball team will both start their New England tournament play here Wednesday. Soccer will be on the turf at 2:00 PM to take on Millbrook, and volleyball faces Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall (Waltham, MA) at 4:00PM in the Coyle Gym.

In her final year as a middle schooler, eighth grader Alexandra Sanders has decided to showcase her creative side, and her team spirit.
Greens Farms Academy is excited to announce that Chris Doctor will be joining the GFA family as the varsity boys lacrosse coach. Doctor was most recently an assistant coach at Penn State University and is the director of 3d Lacrosse in Greenwich.
The Greens Farms Academy Board of Trustees announce Wednesday, Oct. 4, the appointment of Bob Whelan as its next Head of School, effective July 1, 2018. He will succeed Janet Hartwell, Head of School since 2003.
