Athletes of the Week for this week are.......
Emily Caldwell - Varsity Girls Squash

Senior Emily Caldwell has been one of the top ranked squash players in the nation over her past few seasons and nothing has changed so far this year, as she has started the season off, winning her last three matches convincingly against three strong opponents Rye Country Day, Convent of the Sacred Heart and Holy Child. According to Coach Shaun Cardoza, "Emily has had a big presence amongst her teammates, who love to watch and learn from how she plays. What stands out most about Emily’s game is her calm nature and how effortlessly she is able to get around the squash court. Having Emily as a Co-Captain has been wonderful, as she understands the game so well, and is able to share her knowledge with her teammates." The squash team will continue to look to Emily for her leadership throughout this season, as well as her continued success.
Brian Dexheimer - JV Boys Basketball
Junior captain Brian Dexheimer manages to get the job done on and off the court. As the team's primary point guard, he runs the offense, gets the ball to the right player and scores when needed. In the team's last away game against Hamden Hall, his "and one" play and made free throw midway through the fourth quarter was the turning point in a tight game. From there, the team was able to pull away and come up with a solid FAA victory. Dexheimer also manages the practices and is a leader off the court by taking care of all away game essentials. According to Coach Tod Schofield, "Brian is a "true" point guard and all-around team leader."
