| back | | Madison Leonard '13 Rotary Student of the Month | | | Madison Leonard '13 was chosen as the Rotary Student of the Month in December and spoke to the Sunrise Rotary Club about her passion for community service. Madison detailed her history of community service projects that started in Middle School, volunteering at an Eldercare facility in Norwalk and becoming close with a woman who suffered from dementia. She has gone on to volunteer in several local organizations, including Builders Beyond Borders, which brought her to Peru. Madison is now helping to run the Community Service Board at GFA, and says that community service is part of the fabric of her life:
 "On Thanksgiving morning, I went to serve at the Norwalk Emergency Shelter and then after, I went to the Saugatuck Congregational Church to help out. You know why? It was because I really wanted to. It was not because my school told me to or my parents told me to. GFA has instilled in me a passion for community service and I have found something I truly love."
