GFA students drum the djembe while on a service-learning trip to Senegal.
| GFA service-learning trips take students to intriguing parts of the world where they can gain a new perspective on global issues. Destinations include the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Peru, Senegal and South Africa. |
Upper School students pursuing a diploma with a concentration in Global Studies take additional courses related to the program, participate in off-campus service learning and produce a senior thesis of global relevance. This fund defrays the cost of service learning trips for students on financial aid so this concentration in Global Studies is equally available to all qualified Greens Farms Academy students.
Introduced during the 2010-2011 academic year, the World
Perspectives Program (WPP) is a unique series of curricular initiatives
that emphasize the intersection of science and the humanities. As citizens of the future, GFA students need
to understand the global issues confronting our world and commit themselves to
creating a more sustainable future.
