On Wednesday, October 25th, the GFA Challenge Team, consisting of Isabelle Canaan '12, Graham Bacher '13 (captain), Clay Garner '13, Mark Whittaker '14 and Frankie Garofalo '14 journeyed into New York City to take on Weston HS in the first round of  "The Challenge." The competition is a quiz-bowl type show hosted by Cablevision and MSG Varsity in which students answer questions dealing with Art, Literature, History, Geography, Mathematics, Science and Pop Culture.

 

GFA's team defeated the all-senior Weston squad in a very close match. By winning this match, the team moves on to the playoff round in February to face a currently undetermined Connecticut opponent. The GFA/Weston match can be seen on Saturday or Sunday, November 5th & 6th at 6:30 or 9:30 p.m.airs on MSG Varsity (Channel 14 or 614 on Cablevision).
