Athletes of the Week
This honor recognizes one male and one female athlete, who have displayed outstanding performance, leadership, and sportsmanship in his or her particular sport.  Athletes are nominated by their team coach and are selected on a weekly basis.  Nominations are open to all JV, Varsity, and 3rds teams.

Athletes of the Week for this week are.......

Spencer Hartig - Varsity Boys Soccer
Entering in to his first year at Greens Farms Academy, Spencer Hartig has already made his athletic presence felt on the soccer field. In previous weeks, Hartig has found the back of the net on a few occasions, in addition to finding his teammates for goals of their own. This week, however, Hartig has really shined, as he scored three goals and assisted on another in a well-earned 7-4 victory over The Masters School. When asked about Hartig, Coach Chris Mira said, "He came to pre-season in great shape, which has helped to set a great example for the younger players. His personality, his effort level and his skills are all a good fit for the team."

Keira Wood - Varsity Volleyball
As a senior captain for the Varsity Volleyball team, Wood has been a leader since the beginning. In a recent match on Wednesday September 28th against FAA opponent, School of the Holy Child, Wood notched her best all-around game thus far for the season. She had sixteen kills, four digs, four aces and registered fifteen service points throughout the match. According to Coach Paul Groves, "It was great to have a senior captain play their best when the team needed the most." The team will continue to look to Wood in future matches for her positive attitude, in addition to her fine-tuned skills.
