Alumni of All Ages Return for Reunion 2011

From the class of 2010 to the class of 1940, alumni returned to campus on Saturday, May 21 for Reunion 2011. The day started with a luncheon to honor alumnae of The Bolton School. Nearly forty alumnae gathered in the cafeteria to remember the school they attended and its founder and headmistress, Mary Bolton. Mrs. Bolton's great-grandson Michael Rintoul '84 addressed the audience and later helped to unveil a portrait of Mary Bolton commissioned for GFA by the Stetson family and painted by alumna artist Susan Durkee '72. Throughout the early afternoon, Bolton alumnae were interviewed on camera as part of the Bolton Memories Project, a collaboration between the GFA Alumni Council and the Development Office. Their memories of The Bolton School will be added to the GFA archives. View photos of the Bolton alumnae luncheon on Flickr.

Later in the afternoon, four faculty members spoke to an inquisitive group of 30 alumni and friends on the topic of Teaching with Technology at GFA. As the stormy skies cleared, the Lower School courtyard came alive with alumni and guests. Judy Chapman Proctor '70, both an alumna and a GFA past parent (of Tom '05 and Charlie '10) was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. View photos of the evening gathering on Flickr.

Over 165 alumni and guests returned to campus, and we look forward to another vibrant gathering at next year's Reunion, to be held Saturday, May 19, 2012.
