December 2010 - January 2011
The Denes Classic is on Friday!
NOTE: Due to the approaching snowstorm, please check www.gfacademy.org for the latest updates before heading to campus for the Denes Classic.

Come back to GFA for the annual Denes Classic on Friday, January 7th, starting at 4:00 pm!

Alumni from the classes of 2000-2010 will play at 4:00 pm against GFA varsity basketball players, while older alumni will play at 7:15 pm against the faculty team. In between the two alumni games, you can catch the seniors vs. faculty game.

Sandwiches and drinks will be available to alumni, with a suggested donation to the Edward J. Denes Scholarship Fund.

Click here for more details, and be sure to RSVP on Facebook, too!

GFA Photos on Flickr
Photos from GFA are now easier to access, thanks to the school's new Flickr account. Explore the site to see a variety of images from anything and everything happening on campus. Alums with Flickr accounts are welcome to add GFA as a contact to keep up with the latest photos. Don't have an account yet? You can create one for free at Flickr.com.

We will soon start compiling galleries of alumni photography and artwork on Flickr, but the only way we can do that is if you let us know about your Flickr account! Send us a message on Flickr or email Matt Hintsa '06 at mhintsa@gfacademy.org with a link to your photostream.

Peer Support Group Seeks Alumni Stories
GFA's Peer Support group is seeking stories from alumni about alternatives to risky behavior. Please read the letter below from the group and consider submitting your story at the link below.

Dear GFA Alumni,

Peer Support has a unique request of you. We are doing an assembly this year ourselves, without any professional speakers, that is centered around ALTERNATIVES to risky behavior. We want to focus on SOLUTIONS - what to do instead of things that can get teens into some trouble. If you have a story to tell that you think would benefit the current GFA Upper School and relates to our topic, we would so appreciate hearing from you. It can really be about anything that relates to risky behavior and your experience with it. We would most definitely keep your name confidential. If you like, you can even mail a letter to Ms. Elizabeth Day at GFA, and leave it anonymous.

Sincerely,
Peer Support

To submit your story (anonymously, if you wish), please fill out this online form. Thank you in advance for your submissions.
