Students who are truly passionate and serious about global studies and environmental issues, GFA offers a Diploma with a Concentration in Global Studies (beginning with the Class of 2012), which can be earned by completing the following in addition to regular graduation requirements.
- Complete a second course from the approved global studies list. (Click here and refer to the "WPP in the Upper School" section)
- Take a language through Level 4.
- Undertake international service learning (B3, GFA's service learning trips, Bio Station in Bermuda or another service trip approved by the Director of Global Studies). Attendance at the Island School, School Year Abroad, The High Mountain Institute or Mountain School would also satisfy this requirement.
- Write a Senior Global Thesis.
It is recommended that students who are interested in pursuing a Diploma with a Concentration in Global Studies declare their interest by the spring of their 10th grade year to facilitate schedule planning.
