Ophelia Dahl Launches World Perspectives Program
On Wednesday, September 8, Ophelia Dahl delivered the convocation address to kick off both the academic year and GFA’s new World Perspectives Program. Dahl is the Executive Director of Partners in Health, an organization that delivers urgently needed medical care to people throughout the developing world. She figures prominently in Tracy Kidder’s Mountains Beyond Mountains, a book that the GFA community read in anticipation of her visit.

Homecoming 2010!
Mark your calendars for GFA Homecoming 2010 on Saturday, October 23! Come back to campus to connect with your former teachers, cheer on the dragons, and grab a bite to eat at the complimentary barbecue. A variety of inflatable rides for children will make the event fun for the whole family!

Athletic Fields Undergo Reconstruction


Construction work during the summer and early fall will ultimately provide GFA with an additional soccer field, eight new tennis courts, and a permanent baseball diamond, among other improvements.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony at Homecoming will officially inaugurate the school's new tennis courts. The ceremony will be followed by exhibition tennis matches featuring former GFA tennis players.
 


GFA to Start Residency Program with Juilliard

During the October 16th Jazz at the Farm event, GFA’s performing arts department will kick off a residency program with Juilliard’s Institute for Jazz Studies. The program will bring in performers and teachers to GFA each school year, and will allow for GFA performing arts classes to visit Juilliard facilities on field trips.

Come enjoy two nights of jazz at GFA and the Pequot Library on Friday and Saturday, October 15th and 16th. Check the calendar of alumni events for details. Free admission!
