Directions:
Take I-95 North to Exit 25. At the bottom of the exit turn RIGHT on to Coolidge Street and then an immediate LEFT onto Commerce Drive. Take your next LEFT on to Dewey Street. Follow Dewey Street as it becomes Briarwood Ave and then turn LEFT on to Brooklawn Avenue. Follow Brooklawn (becomes Easton Turnpike) for approximately 3 miles. Fairchild Wheeler will be on your left. From the Merritt Parkway: Take the Merritt North to Exit 46. At the bottom of the exit turn RIGHT on to Jefferson Street and then turn immediately LEFT onto Easton Turnpike. Fairchild Wheeler will be on your right.
The GFA Golf team opened their season with a very closely contested match vs King. King shot a team score of 216 with GFA totaling 223.
Coach Chris Mira said, "We're a young team, and this was a quality opponent for our first match of the season. We played them a lot closer this year than we have in the past, only losing by seven strokes. With a bit more experience we'll be right up there with those type of teams."
Senior Wills Rooney (Darien) lead the way for GFA with a four shot victory. Also playing well for GFA were sophomores Mark Whittaker (Fairfield), Jack Wood (Redding) and Andrew Holliday (Darien). Freshmen Ian Bell (Southport) and Colin Tauk (Westport).
GFA returns to action at Hamden Hall on Monday the 16th.

Greens Farms Academy Golf defeats FAA rival Hamden Hall 5 - 4
GFA took three head-to-head matches, plus low team score 238 - 245 for their five points.
Freshman Ian Bell (Southport) led the way for GFA with a 40 on the tough Yale course. Sophomores Mark Whittaker (Fairfield) and Jack Wood (Redding) each added a victory in their matches. Senior Wills Rooney (Darien) and sophomore Ethan Weinberger (Westport) also helped GFA earn the win.
GFA, now 1-1, returns to action on May 2cd vs King.

FROM I-287 WEST (CROSS WESTCHESTER EXPRESS WAY): To I-87 South/New York City to first exit (.5 mi.) Saw Mill River Parkway (SMRP) South. **Take SMRP to Exit 17 Ashford Avenue Ardsley/Dobbs Ferry. Go straight to first traffic light (Washington Avenue). Turn right on Washington Avenue. Take Washington to first stop sign and turn right on Sherman. Take Sherman for one block to Osceola Avenue. Make a left onto Osceola then proceed one block to North Mountain Drive. Make a right on North Mountain Drive. Take North Mountain Drive to top of hill into Club parking lot.
The Greens Farms Academy Golf team defeated Masters of New York 8 - 1.
Greens Farms won five of the six individual matches, while also garnering Low Medalist and Low Team Aggregate.
Freshman Ian Bell (Southport) and senior Wills Rooney (Darien) both shot 45 to lead the way for GFA. Sophomores Jack Wood (Redding), Mark Whittaker (Fairfield), and Ethan Weinberger (Westport) all won their individual matches while sophomore Andrew Holliday (Darien) also contributed to the team win.
GFA, now 2-1 on the season, will take on FAA rival King next Wednesday in Stamford

Greens Farms Academy golf losses to King 240 - 212.
King swept all six of the individual matches. Freshman Ian Bell (Southport) led GFA with a 45, followed by sophomores Mark Whittaker (Westport), Jack Wood (Redding), and Dan Pailiotta (Westport), along with freshman Kevin Wong (Greenwich). Senior Wills Rooney (Darien) came within three strokes in his match.
GFA, now 2-2, will play in the FAA Tournament on Monday in New Canaan.

GFA Golf teed off against Brunswick this afternoon and came out on the losing side 8 - 1.
Senior Wills Rooney (Darien), playing his final round as a GFA Dragon, halved his match shooting a 40. Sophomore Ethan Weinberger (Westport) also halved his match. Rooney and freshman Ian Bell (Southport) both shot 40 to lead GFA. Sophomores Mark Whittaker (Fairfield) and Jack Wood (Redding), along with freshman Kevin Wong (Greenwich) all contributed to GFA's team effort.
GFA, now 2-4 on the season will host Hamden Hall in their season ending match on Wednesday.
