Rwanda Doll Project
Amy.jpg

GFA Senior Amy St. John completed her first Doll Project in 2009 when she sent approximately 40 dolls (pictured above) to disadvantaged children in Cambodia. Since then, she's wanted to take this project to Phase II.

Amy writes, "Sewing these dolls has a two-fold effect of alleviating the children's situation and raising my own awareness. Knowing that underprivileged children would welcome them has been a phenomenal experience and inspired me to continue with it. Through a family connection, I’ve learned about a Partners In Health project in the Rwinkwavu village in Rwanda. Wanting to expand the project, I am planning on sewing dolls in the shape of local animals (elephants, monkeys and pigs) to donate to the children in the pediatric ward.

"I would love to involve members of the GFA community in this venture. If you would like to support the Rwanda Doll Project, please consider purchasing a customized doll to send to an orphan! The four easy steps are explained on this form."

Many thanks,

Amy
